So I happen to be sitting here smoking a cigarette, when the thought crosses my mind that should get out more often, and actually see the world for what it is. I am a writer by trade, but not necessarily a great one, I can certainly write my way out of a paper bag. Lately, though, I haven't been writing from my center, which is to say that haven't been writing at my best. It has been all dragons and drama for months now, and no new imagery has come to mind, I definitely think I need to be some place new and exciting for awhile. New York City seems to fit the bill, and I crave excitement in just right, controlled quantities. There are many New York City cheap hotels to spend my stay at while there.

I can't say when last I had traveled, it had to have been months before I finished college, and had just received money for my first published story. It was rainy when I finally decided to make the proper arrangements for the trip, and was not easily swayed by all the deals from airlines and vacation packages, what I wanted was a cheap and simple getaway. It was in those few days away from my collegiate order, I was able to really relax for the first time knowing that I was a good writer, and that I could keep up with whatever life threw at me. It was also in those days away that I became aware of a certain admirer of my work, and that woman would later become my wife, all after I made that trek, however.

We had three children, whom have since grown to be young adults, and possessors of their own destinies. I had merely to show them the way, but I made sure that they realized that the task was never going to be easy, that they should prepare for all that life would throw their way. Now, my daughter is in college, studying the same things I was studying, and becoming quite the writer in her own right. My two sons both went on to pursue interesting lives, my twenty-three year old son is an emergency room doctor, and my twenty-seven year old son is a cameraman at a television station. They both went into a more adequately specialized field of study for themselves, and I am proud of all of my children, no matter what they make of themselves.

I stand by their decisions completely and gratefully, glad to be their father, and to have seen them through their greatest accomplishments. Sadly, my wife died a few short years ago, and it has been very difficult for me to write close to anything worth my contemplation. I devoted myself completely towards working harder that I had before, and that was when I wrote some great stuff, though at the time, it felt like a fluke. I digress, now I am working through a mental block, and New York City is the destination. A New York City cheap hotel will easily do the job, and New York City cheap hotels come by the handfuls, making it easier to go and book a flight or something soon.
